Wedding Confetti - Unique Ideas and Theme "etti"

So you want something unique as wedding confetti and you're not sure what to use. With so many choices, it can be hard for a couple to decide. Here are a few ideas, tips and uses for your special day.

Beach theme? Why not use shredded coconut! It's inexpensive, won't stain clothes and is completely safe for birds and animals. What better way to have a tropical send off?

Lavender buds make for beautiful send off. Fill flower girl baskets with lavender (even use the baskets as part of centerpieces) pass them around to the guest, have them each grab a handful to toss a the newly married couple.

A variation for this idea is to pass out organza bags filled with lavender buds to toss at the couple and whatever is left, send home with the guests. Lavender makes a wonderful drawer sachets or dryer sachets.

Fill buckets with freeze dried roses or a mixture of a different freeze dried roses/ flowers. They make for a elegant toss, stay beautiful and will not stain clothing.

See below for more information.

These petals are colourfast and available in range of beautiful colours and are suitable for a wide range of uses including throwing, scattering or adding to ice sculptures or flower arrangements.

Real petals, which have been freeze dried to remove their moisture, whilst retaining the size, subtle shading and colour of the fresh petal

If you want a petal that retains the subtlety of shading and natural look of a fresh rose petal, then freeze dried ones are for you.

Other methods such as air-drying can result in a rather shrivelled petal, glycerin 'preserved' petals have a rather unnatural look and feel.

As a process, freeze-drying removes most of the moisture from the petals, but the size of the petal is maintained. The feel of the petal is slightly dry but still soft and delicate

A great advantage of being able to use freeze-dried petals of certain flower varieties is that it extends their season.

Particularly good with peonies and some types of Old English garden rose. It means that we can still use preserved petals and also whole flower heads when the growing season is over. (Whole heads make great decorations for cakes, on top or between the layers).

Freeze dried rose petals are perfect for scattering on tables or used to line pathways or aisles.

They are also perfect when used to throw as confetti.

Unlike fresh rose petals these petals won’t wilt or die, and they are available in a wide range of colours

The rose petals come in a variety of single colors and specialty color blends.

Please note that since this is a natural product, colors may vary slightly. Unlike fresh petals, freeze-dried petals will not wilt or stain clothing. Perfect for decorating a wedding aisle or tossing after the ceremony—indoors or out.

Tips for buying a wedding dress - body shape

Tips for buying a wedding dress - body shape

Pear shaped brides want to buy a wedding dress that puts emphasis on their small waistline.

They could also ideally get away with wearing a strapless or off the shoulder dress with a full skirt.

The Cinderella gown is perfect for this body shape.

The Apple shaped brides should wear dresses that balance out their shape by avoiding defined waistlines.

An empire styled bridal gown would be perfect for the apple shaped bride. A dropped waistline followed by a full skirt is also somewhat ideal for this body shape As with all fashions for the plus-sized woman, wedding dresses should accentuate what you like most about yourself and subtly play down the things you don’t like. When you begin your quest for the perfect dress, keep in mind the following guidelines that will help you get something perfect even before you try it on:

1. A-Lines: A-line dresses are close-fitting at the shoulders and gently flare away from the bodice to create a long, flowing line. There aren’t any cinches or waistbands to accentuate not-so-flattering curves around the belly, which is perfect for the plus-size bride.

2. Sensual Curves: Got a bust that you’re confident with? Empire waist dresses, the kind that fall in a straight line from just below the bust , will play up the curves you’re most proud of and make the rest seem unimportant.

3. Slinky Sleeves: Long sleeves that come to a point over the hand (gothic style) or end just below the elbow add a sleek line to your dress that you’ll love. Stay far, far away from puffy or unfitted sleeves, as they’ll add bulk to the overall look. A recently returning trend is to wear “gauntlets” – sleeves that aren’t attached to the dress. This is a fashion popular in renaissance gowns, which can show off a peek of skin here and there, which is beyond sexy.

4. Open Up: Gowns with open necklines such as scoop necks and keyholes are flattering to the full figure. Once again, if you have a full bust that you’re confident about, you can play up your assets by choosing a support bra that lets you flirtatiously display your décolletage.

5. Delicate Details: Our faces are what show the world we know we’re beautiful. Place more attention on your face and hair by framing yourself with a stunning necklace, a glistening bridal tiara, or flowers delicately arranged throughout your hair

Bridal consultant or wedding planner, what's the difference

There is a difference between planners and coordinators, although most who claim to be either one are actually both. To start with, coordinators do just that, coordinate!

She* may be there just for the day of your event, although you should meet with her a few times before the big day so that she understands your vision and has all the information she needs.

Planners can be involved from the beginning or jump in whenever you need them. They are more involved in the gathering of information, booking of vendors, keeping of budgets, and planning of time lines. They can be involved in just about every decision you make, or just help out when you need them. And of course, they are there on the day of your wedding to make sure things run smoothly.

Both are a wealth of knowledge and should be able to help you with almost every aspect of the wedding, from laying out a budget to knowing the right questions to ask when you meet with vendors to planning a detailed schedule for the big day. They are great to have around when you have random questions that need answers or wedding-related tasks that just don't seem to fit onto your to do list.

The terms "consultant" and "coordinator" mean nearly the same thing. However there are slight variations so be sure to ask any wedding professionals you consult how they define their job. Generally speaking, a "consultant" is involved in the pre-wedding planning process with the bride and a "coordinator" focuses on making sure the actual wedding day flows smoothly.

Bridal consultants discuss coordinating or arranging a wedding with the bride and groom. They help in the pre-wedding stages to come up with ideas and contact caterers, florists, etc. An independent bridal consultant is not associated with specific vendors such as a florist or a caterer, and instead operates a self-contained business.

The consultant sits with the couple and advises them on what she needs to do before the wedding. Part of the service may be to
send the bride reminders and provide a written plan

Bridal consultants may recommend other wedding suppliers during the consultation.

They offer advise on Etiquette, customs and many other wedding related inquires.

The bride may have only one appointment with a consultant or may make regular appointments.

Wedding planners assist with planning a schedule for the wedding, then help conduct and coordinate the wedding day activities. In the south, a wedding coordinator may be called a wedding director.

A church wedding coordinator is usually a member or on the staff of a church and their job is to make sure church rules are followed and assist with planning a schedule for the wedding, then help conduct and coordinate the wedding day activities. Wedding Coordinator -Coordinates the details, vendors and itinerary on your wedding day. All concerns are placed on the shoulders of the wedding director the day of your wedding. The couple doesn't need to get caught up in the small details and can enjoy their guests and the day's events- Generally a person who can take charge and plan the details of a wedding from start to finish. The couple is still involved, but most of the leg work is left to the planner - the couple can trust the professional to make their arrangements for them.

Tips & ideas for ice sculpture molds

Everyone knows how beautiful ice sculpture are. They can enchance the smallest reception and add elgance to buffet tables, food stations, the cake table and so much more.

With today's DIY reusable molds, the possibilities are endless!

For beach themes, use an angel fish mold, dolphins, star fish, mermaids, sea horses, and clam shell punch bowls.

There is so much freedom in creating molds for your special day.Instead of water, use blue koolaid or juice for the angel fish or dolphins.

Sea horses can be molded with apple cider, mermaids with green punch (or whatever your fancy). Try using a clam mold with a flavored drink compatiable with the beverage to be served from the clam punch bowl.

Use pomagranet juice for red hearts or swans. An additional idea is to use beach themed ice trays to freeze beverages (the same you will be serving) and drop a few into your punch bowl!

These versitile molds can also be made for geleatin centerpieces.Have fun and let your imagination take over!
